I recently had the opportunity to here Neville speak at Pictou Lodge for the Operating Nurses' Assn Provincial Meeting on May 29. There were nine O.R.nurses attending from Truro and we all enjoyed it immensely. It was unique how he compared peoples' personalities to different flowers. Now I see my co-workers as a flower. His designs are amazing. We all left the conference with a bounce in our step!

I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks. I was at the design show @ Florist Supply in Edmonton.... and was feeling kind of :( about being a florist and my chosen path in life. When you started and I had so much fun and laughed so much and remembered why I started to do this in the first place.
To make people happy.... who can't be happy getting flowers, it doesn't matter what the occasion, people enjoy flowers. I guess I had forgotten that... so thanks.

I Have a flowershop in Stoney Creek, ON it's called House Of Floral Designs. I LOVE what I do. I've been doing this for 4 years now and my mother has taught me a lot about working with flowers. Now I am saving my pennies so I can go to Niagara College and take the course. The students did a great job at the presentation. It got me pumped up to learn more! Just a note to say Thank You for all the work you guys put into our show. I feel it was a great show, very good turn out of customers and we are still getting wonderful feed back from them. People have said it was the BEST show they have attended, Neville's work was beautiful and usable, and something they could do in their shops for the day to day customers. May be we need to start thinking of another show either later in the year or next as people are saying if HE comes back they will be here, We may even want to think about working it out so that we can do a show in one or both of our other stores. I know I may have put pressure on you to make sure we had a Great designer and one that could keep the interest of the customers, and YOU DID. I know we sometimes ask for a lot but you have always come thru and again I just want to say to you in a big TEXAS way.

Several riders commented that it was the most fun they had ever had at a ride. Your entertaining antics brought us to a new level of participant engagement. People loved receiving a rose from you for spinning to win! The Ride raised close to $80,000! I am sure we will grow even bigger next year as word spreads of the good time you provided to our riders.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has funded more than $1.3 billion in diabetes research, including more than $156 million last year. This would never happen without the support and assistance of amazing community volunteers like you Neville!

Your artistic brilliance was much appreciated for the centerpieces and large arrangements for our Dalhousie Annual Dinner. Not only were the arrangements beautiful masterpieces, you really went above and beyond the call of duty by individually melting old vinyl records to create unique vases for each table arrangement. These fit perfectly with our 50s Rock and Roll theme and were so well received by our audience that they could not have flown off the tables more quickly. With your exceptional personality, spontaneity and zest for life, you were able to reflect our brand and dinner theme in the flowers and take it to the next level.
Not only did you deliver on your promise and exceed all expectations, you were able to whip up additional arrangements only 2 hours before our dinner began to accommodate the jump in table sales. Whether it was a large order of flowers for a dinner or a small order for a reception, you delivered exceptional masterpieces that I would not have been able to find anywhere else.

Dearest Mr. Mackay,
I have been in the flower business for 20 years and I have never been sad to see a designer leave after a show…until YOU! I must tell you (at the risk of your head getting bigger than it already is) that I experienced another first this year; most of the florists attending the show came to me afterward and asked if there was any way to get you to come back next year because they had never laughed so hard and learned so much at the same time. You are what I would consider a “Designer Extraordinaire”. You have the ability to teach without anyone realizing they have been taught. That is an uneasy task to perform. You’re creativity impressed everyone, including my wife, a woman who is not easily impressed. The uniqueness of your design was truly a marvel to see unfold. My staff and I were lucky enough to see most of your prep work done at Central prior to the show come together with what seemed to be an unmistakable ease. It was truly amazing.
It was truly a pleasure to watch you work as well as enjoying your personality and sense of humor as we were all able to do. I would be proud to have you come back for either a florist association show or an open house at Central. You are a great designer, a great instructor, and someone I am proud to call a friend.

Michigan has been hit hard over the last year with the decline of the auto industry and slumping sales. Our customers needed a positive up-beat approach to jump start thier own creative juices and they loved your program. They asked how soon we could schedule you to return.
You created so many wonderful designs, gave great selling tips, informed of floral care procedures and entertained the audience the during the entire program. Our customers appreciated the education but especially loved the way you induced audience interaction and with a humorous approach. Very entertaining.
We also found it refreshing that after the show, your work day continued as you engaged our customers while they were shopping. You assisted them in their product selection and made additional suggestions to help increase our sales for the show day. I find a lot of times, presenters talk above the crowd, and almost make it seem like they themselves are enlightening the audience with their ability to design. My daughter and I were in your shop in early July and she had just gotten her braces. I was taking her shopping to help cheer her up b/c they were sore and she was not happy about it. She is a pretty great kid but this was just one of those pre-teen drama moments I had to respect!
I just wanted to let you know that the orchid you let her pick has lasted until this week and she has enjoyed
telling everyone where it came from and who gave it to her! She is a little shy so I do not think she expressed in

It's not often you find an entertainer, designer, and all around REAL person wrapped into one presenter. We were first 'exposed' to Neville MacKay in October of 2008, at the Koehler and Dramm Fall Floral Show in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Once he got on stage and his program began, we knew instantly he was a 'must have' for our Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Florists Association annual convention.
We loved the way he engaged the audience right away with fabulous design work, coupled with outrageous humor. When we weren't laughing hysterically, we were in awe of what we were seeing. The real treat came when we spoke with him after the program was over and discussed the possibility of him coming to Wisconsin. He is so down to earth and pleasant to talk to you feel you've known him for years. When the time came for him to come to Wisconsin, he made it an absolute delight to work beside him in the design room. At our convention, he presented both a wedding stage program "You want to pay WHAT??!!" and a business seminar "Putting Personality Into Your Business" for us. The wedding program was fantastic; providing designs that were cutting edge, do-able and most of all sellable and affordable. His business seminar was great for anyone in the retail sector from the 'virgin' in the business world to an old timer wanting to get a fresh new look. The pace of his programs kept everyone's attention as you were afraid you were going to miss something if your mind wandered at all! I know we haven't seen the last of Neville in Wisconsin, that's for sure.

When you so generously agreed to be the guest speaker at our annual county 4-H banquet, I anticipated an entertaining demonstration of floral arranging. However, we got so much more!
Your unique mix of floral artistry, side-splitting quips on life, humourous glimpses into your own travels and personal life, and motivational tales of your 4-H days, was a joy to experience. Your ability to amuse, inform and enlighten such a diverse group of “non-florists” is indeed a rare gift. It was a pleasure to watch how you made every face in that room light up, interacting with the crowd long before we even got to your actual presentation. Several people commented that they hadn’t laughed that hard in a long, long time. You’ll be a very tough act to follow.
